Scayl Partners With Brooke Food to Supply and Distribute Machinery in Australia.

Scayl is working with Brook Food, a bakery equipment company, to supply accurate weighing and filling machines to the finest bakeries down under.

It is by complete chance that a single cup of coffee can turn into an exciting partnership such as this one. Scayl’s head of sales visited Manchester-based coffee roasters, Heart & Graft Coffee to discuss solutions and machinery for their growing business. On this visit, they built an excellent rapport together – with Heart & Graft being impressed by the machines. So impressed in fact, that they recommended Scayl’s Machines to next-door neighbour Martin’s Bakery – who pack a range of bakery ingredients such as flour.

This created a snowball effect for our entry into Australian distribution. Neil Martin, a director of Martin’s bakery then proceeded to recommend Scayl to family member Ian Martin – who runs Brook Food in Australia. This recommendation comes at a phenomenal time, as in December 2021, the UK and Australia signed a historic trade agreement that will have numerous benefits for both economies. After the hardships that many businesses faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, this is certainly a welcome move. By distributing our machines in Australia, we are providing entry-level solutions at entry-level costs to new and growing businesses – as well as more advanced machinery for established SMEs.

After the hardships and inconveniences caused by the pandemic, Brook Food and Scayl were finally able to meet in person and organise a visit, to see the machines in action. At PPMA Show 2021, the two companies entered talks about a distribution partnership to supply machines to Australia and New Zealand. Come the beginning of March 2022 the first load of machinery left our warehouse in North Yorkshire, UK and made the 10,000+ mile journey to Melbourne, Australia.

“It is amazing that something as simple as building a good rapport with a coffee company could lead to such an incredible partnership that can offer entry-level solutions to companies across the pond. We are thrilled to be working with Brook Food on this project and look forward to wherever the next cup of coffee might take us”

-David Martin, Head of Global Solutions at Scayl.
