PPMA 2026 has officially wrapped up, and what an amazing few days it was for the Scayl team!
Held at the NEC Birmingham, PPMA Total Processing & Packaging 2026 brought together businesses from across the processing and packaging industry, giving us the perfect opportunity to showcase our latest packing machine.
From meeting existing customers to introducing Scayl to new potential customers, the show was packed with conversations, demonstrations, networking and plenty of things to catch visitors' attention.
A Busy Few Days on the Scayl Stand
Our stand was designed to showcase the range of solutions Scayl can offer, from compact tabletop machinery through to complete automated packing lines.
Throughout the show, we spoke to over 200 past and present customers, as well as new potential leads. It was fantastic to catch up with familiar faces, discuss current projects and understand what businesses are looking for from their packaging and automation equipment.
We also welcomed plenty of new visitors to the stand, giving us the opportunity to talk about how Scayl can help businesses improve their packing processes, efficiency and automation.

We came away with some really promising leads, and our robot dog and ice cream topping station were a real hit with visitors! It was also great to catch up with others in the industry, exchange ideas and see some of the latest innovations and technology.”
From Tabletop Machines to a Full Packing Line
One of the main focuses of our stand was, of course, our packaging machinery.
Visitors could see the breadth of Scayl's capabilities, with machinery ranging from our compact Phil tabletop packing machine through to a complete packing line.
We showcased a selection of machines including:
- Phil300+
- Phil2500
- Seal 2000
- Vacuum Loader
- Multi 1025
- LIN 405
- LIN 250a
- Doypack 4300
Having such a varied selection on the stand allowed visitors to see how different types of packing and packaging machinery can be used for different applications and production requirements.
From individual machines to more complete automated packing solutions, the show highlighted the flexibility of the equipment available from Scayl.
RoboDog Steals the Show
You don't necessarily expect to see a robot dog at a packaging machinery exhibition – but that's exactly what we brought to PPMA!
Our RoboDog quickly became one of the unexpected talking points of the stand, catching the attention of visitors as they walked around the exhibition.
While it might not be part of the packing line itself, RoboDog helped bring a little extra personality to the stand and, more importantly, gave our team another opportunity to start conversations with visitors.
It was a great example of how technology, automation and innovation were central themes throughout PPMA 2026 – whether that was on the production line or attracting attention on the exhibition floor!
Ice Cream Toppings, Anyone?
Another big hit with visitors was our ice cream topping station.
As well as demonstrating our machinery, we wanted to create an experience that visitors would remember and what better way to do that than with ice cream?
The topping station proved to be a real crowd pleaser, giving visitors the chance to grab an ice cream and customise it with their favourite toppings while exploring the Scayl stand.
It was a fun addition to the stand and gave the team another great opportunity to chat with visitors in a more relaxed setting.
Showcasing Real Customer Products
PPMA wasn't just about machinery. We also wanted to demonstrate what our equipment can do with real products.
Visitors could see customer products being used alongside our machinery, helping to demonstrate the practical applications of automated packaging and packing solutions.
Seeing products being packed on the machinery gives visitors a much better understanding of how a solution could potentially work within their own production environment.
A Little Something for Our Visitors
We couldn't let visitors leave empty handed!
Our goodie bags included some treats, including tea from The Manor and VIP Nuts, giving visitors something to take away with them after visiting the stand.
It was just one small way for us to say thank you to everyone who took the time to come and speak to the Scayl team.
Celebrating at the Automate UK Awards
PPMA week was also a chance for us to celebrate some exciting recognition for Scayl.
Earlier in the week, members of the team attended the Automate UK Awards, where Scayl had been nominated across three categories:
- Innovative Robotics / Automatic Solution
- Innovative Processing Solution
- Innovative Packing Machinery
We were delighted to be highly commended for Innovative Packing Machinery. A special congratulations to Jenny, whose innovative solution helped the team achieve this highly commended recognition. 🏆
David and Jenny attended the awards evening, which included a three course meal and plenty of opportunities to network with others from across the industry.
It was a fantastic evening and a great opportunity to celebrate the work that goes into developing innovative packaging solutions.
Looking Back on PPMA 2026
With over 200 conversations with existing and potential customers, promising new leads and plenty of interest in our machinery, PPMA 2026 was a valuable few days for the Scayl team.
It was also a great opportunity to step back from day to day work, meet others within the packaging and processing industry, exchange ideas and see some of the latest developments in technology and automation.
From our packing machinery and automated solutions to RoboDog and our ice cream topping station, there was certainly plenty happening on the Scayl stand!
